WIHN Wish List

WIHN accepts donations for the Day Center:

  • Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, plates, cups)
  • Plastic forks, spoons, knives
  • Trash bags (kitchen and large garbage sizes)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Laundry detergent (powdered)
  • Liquid hand soap
  • Diapers (all sizes), baby wipes
  • First Aid supplies and medicines (adult, child, infant)
  • Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, bar soap, feminine products)
  • African American hair products (Motions, Cream of Nature, etc.)

WIHN accepts some donations for families when they’re ready to move out:

  • Small kitchen appliances (toaster, blender, microwave, etc.)
  • Linens (towels, sheets)
  • Flatware
  • Dishes (plates, bowls, glasses)
  • Pots, pans, cooking utensils

WIHN does not accept clothing. If you have clothing to donate, please take it to the Bargain Box at Cameron Village (401 Woodburn Road; 833-7587; M-Sat, 10am-6pm) or the Dorcas Shop in Cary (1231 NE Maynard Road; 469-1351). Both of these organizations are generous to our families.

WIHN accepts furniture donations. The storage facility is located in Garner, and donors must take donations there because WIHN does not have a truck for moving them. Please contact a staff member during the week to make arrangements for getting access and directions to the storage facility.

Other donations:

  • Bus passes
  • Landscaping
