Dear Friends of WIHN,
As of today, WIHN has served 52 families
this year. It has been a rewarding year, but there have also been some
stressful times for WIHN.
Some of the stress this summer was due to
major plumbing repairs, installation of two large heat pumps to replace
those that had died, replacement of two washers and dryers, and major
repairs to our vans. Needless to say, our budget is very “lean.”
We try to ask for your contributions only
once a year, usually around Christmas with our annual newsletter.
However, we consider this an emergency and are asking for additional
help now. We know you care about the homeless families we serve. We are
asking for your “above and beyond” contribution, and we thank you on
behalf of our families who depend on WIHN to foster their
self-sufficiency and independence.
In addition, a nonprofit foundation, Fore
the Lord, has once again offered us a challenge grant of $5000 for new
contributors. If new donors give WIHN at least $5000, Fore the Lord will
give us an additional $5000. We would appreciate your efforts in getting
the word out to possible new supporters and friends. You all have been
so loving, caring and supportive of WIHN, and we depend on you to help
with our program of helping the homeless.
If you can once again help us with either
or both of our requests, we will be so grateful. You have all been the
backbone of WIHN, and we are so appreciative!
